Dri-Bar Installation Instructions for Dirt Modifieds
- Remove bolts and adjustable arm from end of torsion bar
- Remove bolts and caps from chassis clamps attached to torsion bar
- Remove caps that hold chassis mount to torsion bar – grease both halves
- Re-install caps and tighten bolts
- Insert bar across and on top of frame in front of fuel tank
- Re-install chassis mount caps and bolts (leave slightly loose for alignment)
- Gently tighten teflon screws in top of caps to align clamp with torsion bar
- Tighten lower frame cap bolts equally to ensure gap on each side of cap is equal to avoid twisting mount and binding torsion bar.
- Remove teflon screws and install grease zerks supplied
- Re-Install adjustable arm and fasteners.
- Install top 4-link bolts (pre-drilled & tapped) supplied
- Install bolt supplied to attach drop link heim to top left 4-link bolt
- Install bolt supplied to attach drop link heim to top right 4-link bolt (adjust length of drop links to allow bolt to be installed with NO bind.
- Loosen torsion bar clamps (½” wide pinch clamps), move torsion bar side to side to get drop links as vertical as possible.
- Tighten each clamp to allow 1/8” to 3/16” end play when completed
- Remove 10-32 bolts and cap from control unit
- Install unit and replace caps and 10-32 bolts
- Remove 10-32 bolts and cap from cable mount
- Install unit and replace caps and 10-32 bolts loosely
- Adjust handle to extend control cable fully
- Slide cable and cable clamp away from control to unit to fully extend cable
- Move back towards unit 1/8” and tighten 10-32 Bolts
- This will provide full range adjustment of control
- To adjust RR drop link prior to competition the following is needed – A level surface, driver in the deat, complete set-up, set tire pressures, proper fuel load, remove bolt through drop link heim and Dri-Bar, adjust link to allow bolt to be replaced WITHOUT any load on Dri-Bar, and tighten.
- Soften RR spring as recommended
- Follow recommended shock suggestions
- Put handle towards cable mount to loosen car (sliding blade extended) for heavy or rough conditions. Move handle away from cable mount to tighten car (retract sliding blade) for smoother or dry conditions
